Tilt and Clear Vs Bump and Turn

Players who tilt early in the swing need to clear the left hip early to shallow the shaft and cover the ball. In this video Gary looks at the action of Patrick Cantlay and explains why the left side works differently in the RSS.

The Bump and Moving Forward

In the Right Sided Swing the left side holds and moves past the wall at impact. You need your top and bottom halves to be in the right order. In this video Gary explains the Bump and shows how to bring the club around and hit into the left side with the Right Side.

The Bump: Then and Now

Gary talks about how the first move on the downswing is a product of the starting angles and the first move back. He talks about the ‘The Bump’ and the whole Shape moving forward.

The Bump

The Bump is the lateral shift of the whole Body Shape that occurs in the transition. In this video Gary explains the Bump and why it is impossible to get it right if you do not have the correct Body Shape on the way back.

Hips Across and Bump

when you say, “hips have to be across” are you referring to a bump along the target line, and when does that start? By the way you guys are great, after I sent this I went out and shot a 69!! lowest round ever!

Pushing Off the Right Leg

Hi Gary, The bump across move looks powerful. Do you have the feeling of pushing off the inside of right foot when you do this? Can you explain this feeling in more detail. Thanks Jason

Shoulder Plane

Looking at the slomo DTL swings, it looks to me like the shoulder plane at impact is steeper than at setup and follow through, due to the flattening of the shaft that occurs in the first part of downswing with the bump (and perhaps with an external rotation of the right shoulder as the right […]

Pushing into Impact

Hi there, I do still not understand the concept of pushing the club into impact. When do I start pushing? Is it the first move in the downswing (beside the bump) Is there a viedo available of the pushing impact drill? THX a lot from Germany Markus

Transition from Shut and Tilted

Many students have problems with their transition from back to down. We get alot of questions about what starts the downswing. If you have a shut clubface and turn in the wrong direction early leaning or bumping is impossible. In this lesson Gary shows how you can fix clubface by fixing the body, also how […]

Foot Roll

Would you please comment on the change in pressure in the front leg and foot during the bump-downswing-follow through. I’m a bit confused by this: in Training Video 4-Weight Shift, Gary says, “[At the top of the swing]…the pressure will be on the inside of here [pointing to the inner thigh/groin area of the rear […]

The Bump: Then and Now

December 11, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

If you move out of your original Body Shape you will need a bigger lateral move across in transition. Many of the older players used to have big lateral moves. We have just uploaded a new video. Enjoy!

Getting Forward

June 1, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

Most of the world’s best golfers move forward into impact. Hitting against a firm left side is not possible if you shift incorrectly and it is definitely not do-able if your top half is in-front of your bottom half coming down. We have just posted more new video here. There is more coming this month […]

New Live Lesson on Over-shape

July 16, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

Getting over-shaped can stop the top and bottom working properly and make it difficult to cover the ball at impact. There are quite a few causes of over-shape during the swing. We have just posted a new Live Lesson. Gary talks about the lower and how it works in The Right Sided Swing and how […]
